In India, the RadioCity FM network operated by Music Broadcast Private Limited (MBPL) launched its Chennai FM station 105.8FM on July 10. It recently launched in Hyderabad. The network also includes Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi.
Ms Apruva Purohit, CEO of RadioCity told reporters in Chennai that the rest of the FM stations (16) would be on air before March 2007. Ms Purohit has been in the job a year.
The radio network was awarded the licenses under the government Phase ll expansion into commercial FM Radio.
RadioCity FM was earlier part of the Star Group of Hong Kong. Now it is owned by GW Capital, retaining the brand name "RadioCity".
