Axon's Frame Synchronizer New at IBC 2006

AXON’s new product portfolio at IBC 2006 Amsterdam in September

Digital TV vendor, Axon Digital Design, based in Udenhout in the Netherlands is to showcase several exciting new digital TV product innovations at IBC 2006, including a range of top-quality, high- definition format converters with Teranex algorithms. Making their IBC 2006 debut are the HES20 SD/HD-SDI embedded Dolby E alignment engine/frame synchronizer, the world’s first TWINS high-end HD-SDI to SD-SDI/composite down converter, compact digital router series, TWINS integrity checkers, and the world’s first hot-swappable, integrated Dolby Digital encoder. The Dolby Digital Encoder (the DDE51) breaks new ground in the integration of Dolby and HD technologies.

AXON says the new and unique HES20 Dolby-E aligner and frame synchronizer is a much-needed solution to a problem that occurs frequently with Dolby E in modern SD and HD SDI embedded infrastructures. Individual audio and video propagation-delay problems can cause a time shift of the Dolby E stream with respect to the SDI carrier (even when it is embedded).

Another interesting development from Axon is its NV8288 Digital Video Router that saves precious OB-van space and weight. It no longer needs to be a headache for engineers. The NV8288 features the first deployment of a 3Gb/s HD/SDI chipset, which is the smallest big router in the world and offers SDI, HD-SDI and ASI formats in a compact and lightweight package.
