NDTV with Indian First

Delhi -- From June 12, NDTV, the 24X7 news channel is using satellite "opt-out" technology to bring a separate dedicated 30 minute nightly news program to viewers in South India states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala and soon to the central region of Andhra Pradesh.

NDTV says it is the first broadcaster in India to utilise this world class broadcast technology offering region specific programming. for its viewers. Opt-Out technology makes it possible for region specific news to be telecast while the rest of the country continues to watch the national telecast.

Satelite pt outs will be extended at weekends for the southern states to cover a bouquet of more region-specific programs.
