Jaipur & Hyderabad FMs start

India -- As Part of the Phase expansion of commercial FM Radio stations in India, MyFm 106.0 in Jaipur wen to air on May 28and a two days later, Radio City 106.4 FM launched May 30.

FM-Radio station, MyFm of Synergy Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. launched at Jaipur on May 28 as the first of a new radio network of one of India's leading publishing enterprises, the Bhaskar Group, with its flagship publications, Dainik Bhaskar and Divya Bhaskar.

"MY-FM", run by a Bhaskar wholly-owned subsidiary, Synergy Media Entertainment Ltd, is responsible for the FM operation that will spread to 17 markets domestically across India. The cities include: Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur in Rajasthan, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat, Bilaspur and Raipur in Chattisgarh, and Chandigarh, Amritsar and Jalandhar in the Punjab market.

Radio City , Hyderabad is the fifth FM Radio station of Music Broadcast Pvt Ltd (MBPL) launched on May 29.

Radio Mirchi 105 FM is the first 24-hour FM radio station in Jaipur while Radio Mirchi 95 FM being the first 24-hour FM radio station in Hyderabad and also the first and third private FM radio stations respectively to be launched in the country in the Phase II of radio privatization. Radio Mirchi is India’s largest private FM radio network and is owned by ENIL, India’s only listed pure play Radio Company.

Digital vendor to both "MYFM" and Radio City, Hyderabad was BECIL, otherwise known officially as [Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd] offshoot of Prasar Bharati. They were system integrator for creation of state-of-art facilities for both stations, as well as transmitting centres. BECIL on its web site said that the entire planning, design and execution was carried out by in record time.
