The judges, a panel of international experts, noted the website's depth of content in multimedia and ability to provide video on demand for shows such as Close Up as key reasons for the win. recently provided live coverage of the Commonwealth Games online - a first for New Zealand broadcasting. The live streaming was complemented by specially prepared program packages which showed highlights and 'Kiwi moments', on demand.

TVNZ's General Manager for Interactive, Alistair Matthewson, said of the award, that it is fantastic recognition of Television New Zealand's commitment to innovate and enable the integrated delivery of content on static or mobile TV screens to kiwis, whenever and wherever they are.

"We have really embraced new technologies and are making the most of the content that is generated by both our team and TVNZ's wide array of shows," said Matthewson.
