Broadcast Electronics says that in April it delivered the first AM HD Radio system in Asia.
AM HD Radio went on the air in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 1062 kHz using a BE AM 10A transmitter opening a new chapter for digital broadcasters.
Also in April, BE installed HD Radio FM on JDFI-FM 101.8 MHz, part of the Prambors Radio Group in Jakarta.
"The reception of BE and HD Radio around the world has been overwhelmingly positive. The audio performance, low cost of implementation, and the opportunities for multicasting have made HD Radio the next big thing in many countries," commented Chuck Kelly, Broadcast Electronics Director International Sales.
