KazSat-1 Readies for June 8 Lift-Off

Kazakhstan's six month delayed first communications satellite, KazSat, has been delivered to Baikonur space center in the Central Asian republic for its scheduled June 8 launch.

The geostationary satellite is equipped with 10-12 transponders for TV broadcast and communications with a footprint to cover Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and part of Russia.
