Digital Broadcasters Vendor News has been updated by Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) which states its Nexio server platform and associated products including its new combined SD/HD, system is selling well across the Middle East and North Africa.

Harris says its NEXIO platform has been chosen by a list of TV broadcasters and TV production houses for news, studio production and playout applications including Al-Jazeera International in Qatar; 1/9 Media in Libya; DigiTurk, Turkey; JMC/ArabSat, Jordan; Al-Majd Channel in Saudi Arabia; Al-Rafidine TV in Iraq; Cham TV in the United Arab Emirates; Al-Sa’aa, O-TV, Athir TV, WOW TV and the Ministry of Defense in Egypt; Fashion TV Arabia, Al-Jaras TV, Kounouz TV and Shehrazad TV - all in the Lebanon; and Al-Resalah TV and Gulf Sat in Kuwait.

At digital satellite TV broadcaster in Kuwait, Gulf Sat, its technical director, Mustafa Murad noted that the NEXIO server from Harris repeatedly came up as one of the most reliable and robust systems for channel transmission. He added that the worldwide acceptance of this product, along with its inherent scalability and flexibility, was a key driver in the decision by Gulf Sat to purchase NEXIO.

Digital Broadcasters Vendor News notes that while US politics may be askew in the Arab Diaspora yet Harris, a U.S. Corporation from its Dubai regional headquarters is doing well in television software and hardware business in the Middle East and North Africa.
