Digital Broadcasters | Packet Vision at IBC 2006

Packet Vision Launches IPTV digital broadcasting advertising delivery platform at IBC 2006, Amsterdam

The platform brings a degree of demographic personalisation in ad delivery to the average broadcast or network viewer that is normally associated with targetting ads on the Internet.

To date such sophistication lacked the appropriate technology software for IPTV.

Patrick Christian, Packet Vision MD informed Digital Broadcast Vendor News that the Packet Vision platform makes it feasible even for smaller niche or locally-oriented businesses, as well giving large advertisers an easy platform on which sophisticated and highly interactive ad campaigns can be built.

Christian added that the team at Packet Vision has taken some lessons from the highly successful internet advertising model, and its own resulting business model will make it possible for smaller network operators and those without advertising sales operations to generate income from television advertising.

Demonstrations of the network-based Packet Vision delivery platform, which combines all the functions of video server, splicer, IP router and management system in a small, scalable unit, will be available throughout IBC2006.
