Digital Broadcasters | ESPN-STAR Renews Primera Liga

Digital TV sports broadcaster, ESPN-STAR Sports in India has renewed its rights agreement to transmit Spanish League Football - the Spanish Primera Liga until 2009.

The Spanish TV Football package is part of ESPN-STAR Sports soccer programming line-up that includes English Premier League, other FA English football and Asian Football Confederation coverage.

The deal comes on the back of ESPN-STAR Sports bringing the FIFA World Cup 2006 live and exclusive on its network in India. While cricket is still the dominant sport in India, this year's World Cup has spurred interest in soccer and a national program by the government to promote the sport is being pursued.
