The ZAP-TV story, one of three cases that will be presented, will be of particular interest to your readers:

ZAP-TV, is a Chilean operator who has used Conax to become a major player in DTH television in South America. Together with Telephonica they are offering triple play services in Chile, with plans to expand to other countries in the near future. ZAP-TV launched its digital service in 2003 as a by-product of distributing its exclusive Canal del FĂștbol (Chilean Football Channel) owned by the Chilean Football Association. Using Conax CAS7 it has grown its subscriber base by 500% each year and anticipates significant growth of its revenues as it expands its premium service offerings to over 50 DTH channels. It has partnered with Telephonica to offer a triple-play package of telephone, satellite and broadband services, reaching Chile’s population of 16,000,000 people.
