The World Telecommunication Development Conference 2006 opens today in Doha, Qatar, March 7 with a call to connect all communities by 2015.
This follows a key decision of the World Summit on the Information Society, which concluded last November in Tunis, to ensure that all villages, schools, libraries and local governments will be connected to information and communication technologies (ICT) by 2015.
Keep an eye out for developments and the business opportunities to follow in all related sectors.
Once ITU takes a stand, it means that member governments are already actively engaged in the implementation of the decision.
