Singapore -- It wasn't the announcement per se from ESPNSTAR Sports that courier company UPS, was to sponsor the network's "Golf Focus" program from March 15 for 9 months, but what caught my attention was the dedicated micro web site to be bundled in the sales package.
The value-added package is intended to increase interactivity with viewers and therefore extra exposure for UPS. The web site will feature in a streaming format, all the UPS Golf Tips aired in the program proper. The video clips are being wrapped in a unique UPS billboard especially created for the Internet streaming feeds. UPS banner ads will also run across all pages on http://www.espnstar.com, which feature news on golf.
The main "Golf Focus" program will be transmitted on five TV networks, STAR Sports Asia, STAR Sports South East Asia, STAR Sports HK, STAR Sports Taiwan and STAR Sports India.
Respective executives Joe Guerrisi, Vice President of Marketing, UPS Asia Pacific Region and Charles Less, Senior Vice President, Advertising Sales (SEA), ESPN STAR Sports arranged the digital broadcasters deal.
